Synopsis:

On or about April 28, 2008, the U. S. Geological Survey, Geological Hazards Team, Albuquerque Seismological Laboratory, will release a competitive solicitation, number 08CRSS0024 for strong-motion systems, including integrated systems comprised of separate digital seismic recorders (DAUs - Data Acquisition Units) and sensors, which make it possible to record motions over a wide range of amplitude, frequency and spatial resolution, in support of the Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS). Anticipated application of these devices include urban and rural free-field and reference sites, and sensors for use in other types of networks, such as broadband arrays, which also support strong-motion sensors. The requirement will also include repair and maintenance of the instruments. Given the constraints placed on this purchase by the Government Performance and Results Act, these systems must be existing, upgraded, or improved versions of models which can be purchased "off-the-shelf" and of a type or types that have been utilized in previous deployments for periods of not less than six (6) months. It is anticipated that multiple awards will be made under this procurement. The new contract will be for a base year and four option years. The solicitation shall contain a complete statement of work and source selection criteria including "Instrumentation Testing". The requirement is a partial small-business set-aside, NAICS Code 334519. Procedures under Part 12 commercial items will be used.
