The Housing and Economic Development Financial Corporation (HEDFC) acquired the properties from HUD pursuant to a Contract of Sale dated November 30, 1998 (Contract of Sale) and by Special Warranty Deed dated December 1, 1998. The Contract for Sale provided that the Properties be developed for single family residential uses. The Contract for sale also put restrictions on the use of the proceeds received by HEDFC from the sale of the Properties, including that the proceeds be used for the acquisition, construction, financing development of rehabilitation of affordable housing in Kansas City, Missouri for families with incomes that do not exceed 80% of the median income for Kansas City. The City Planning and Development Department of the City of Kansas City, Missouri (City) is requesting this request for proposals (RFP) in conjunction with HEDFC and is subject to the approval of the federal court having oversight over any subsequent actions related to this RFP.
The Project (hereinafter Registry Square) is a scattered site redevelopment that includes the potential for approximately 9 units of new housing. The area roughly boundaried by 44th Street on the north, Paseo on the east, Troost Avenue on the west and Brush Creek Blvd. on the south.
