Synopsis:

The Federal Correctional Institution, Waseca, Minnesota will be issuing a solicitation to obtain dairy supplies. The contractor will provide a variety of dairy products for the food service department. Delivery orders will be placed by an institution contracting officer to the contractor in writing, telephonically, or by fax or other acceptable means to establish initial service. The contracting officer will issue the contractor an identifying number which shall be identified on the invoice for payment. The contractor is to sumbit an invoice for every delivery order placed. Actual dairy requirements will be placed telephonically from the institution's contracting officer to the contractor upon receipt of a delivery order from the institution food service administrator for the quantities needed. All deliveries are to arrive at the receiving area (FCI Waseca warehouse) between 8:00am - 11:00am & 12:00pm - 2:45pm or at the discretion of the institution. Deliveries shall not exceed two (2) working days or as agreed to by the institution contracting officer. Supplies shall be delivered Monday through Thursday with the exception of weekends and federal holidays. The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution Waseca, Minnesota intends to make a single award to a contractor for providing the following dairy products. Sour Cream, grade A: 4 - 5 lb. containers per case. Deliver 3 cases per week (10/01/2008 - 12/31/2008) approximately 39 cases total. Cottage cheese, grade A: 4 - 5 lb. containers per case.Deliver 1 case per week (10/01/2008 - 12/31/2008) approximately 13 cases total. Milk, 2%, 1/2 pint, grade A: Deliver 650 half pints per week(10/01/2008 - 12/31/2008) approximately 8450 each total. Milk, Skim, 5 gallon bulk grade A: Deliver 140 containers per week (10/01/2008 - 12/31/2008) approximately 1820 containers total. The period of performance shall be from 10/01/2008 - 12/31/2008. Award is anticipated to be October 01, 2008 based on the availability of funds. The solicitation will be available on or after August 20, 2008, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site.
