Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repairs to the USCGC BRISTOL BAY (WTGB-102), 140 FOOT ICEBREAKING TUB AND 120 FOOT BARGE (CGB 12001)

The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items.     The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Full and Open Competition, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about April 11, 2008.      

The solicitation will be issued electronically via the Federal Business Opportunity web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov.     It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments.     Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued.    

The NAICS Code is 336611.     The Geographical restriction for these vessels is the Great Lakes.     All work will be performed at the contractors facility.     The performance period is schedule for fifty-six (56) calendar days and is expected to begin on or about 14 July 2008.

The scope of the acquisition will include, but is not limited to:

1.       Provide access to various compartments for ship?s structure and machinery evaluation board inspection.
2.       Welding repairs.
3.       Clean and Disinfect Potable Water tanks.
4.       Clean and       Inspect Chain Locker.
5.       Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks.
6.       Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shaft.
7.       Overhaul Shaft Seal Assembly.
8.       Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller.
9.       Renew Depth Indicating Transducer.
10.       Overhaul Vaneaxial Fan and Motor Assemblies.
11.       Overhaul Main Motor Blower Assembly.
12.       Renew Valves.
13.       Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assembly.
14.       Inspect Government Furnished Rudder Assembly.
15.       Perform Boat Boom Maintenance.
16.       Perform Anchor Windless Maintenance.
17.       Modify Grey Water Tank System.    
18.       Clean Sewage and Grey Water Piping Systems.
19.       Inspect Chocks and Tow Bitts.
20.       Inspect Hydraulic Pelican Hooks.
21.       Preserve Weather Decks.
22.       Preserve Underwater Body.
23.       Renew No. 1 & 2 Main Diesel Engines Resilient Mounts.
24.       Install New Deck Covering System.
25.       Service 25-Man Life rafts and Associated Hydrostatic Releases (Tug & Barge).
26.       Routine Dry-docking (Tug).
27.       Provide Temporary Logistic.
28.       Provide Additional Temporary Logistic.
29.       Renew Sections of Buoy Deck Plating (Barge).
30.       Clean and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks (Barge).
31.       Perform Anchor Windless Maintenance (Barge).
32.       Perform Anchor and Anchor Chain Maintenance (Barge).
33.       Inspect and Test Air Receivers and Relief Valves (Tug).
    
A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested.           Send all requests to Nancy.M.Brinkman@uscg.mil       The CD-ROM sets are available of all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc).
