| The Department of Central Management Services, Bureau of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, is giving notice of Dept. of Public Healths intent to procure Prevnar Vaccine through the federal Center for Disease Control's (CDC) contract Number 200-2008-24715 with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. |

| Sole Source Only Justification: | The procurement of 330 pkgs (10 single dose syringes per package) of Prevnar Pneumococcal Conjugate Pediatric Vaccine (7 valent) enables the Dept. of Public Health to purchase vaccines for provision to Illinois under-insured children for protection against vaccine-preventable diseases.
Sole source is required because the CDC has negotiated vaccine purchasing contracts with major vaccine manufacturers to allow all 64 federal Immunization Grantee Project Areas, including Illinois, to purchase vaccine at reduced costs. Based on the reasons above and the fact that no other vendor would be able to reasonably and economically meet the current needs and requirements of the department, competitive selection would not be feasible for this procurement.
Any challenge to this Notice must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the published date shown below and to the person identified below. Late challenges will not be considered. Only a challenge with documentation, which sufficiently demonstrates and proves a prospective vendor's ability to meet all specifications and other requirements of the Agency making the award will be considered. The documentation must indicate a price equal to or lower than the amount shown in this Notice. |
