REQUEST FOR INTEREST

49 U.S.C. Section 5316 Grant for FFY 2006

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant program for Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) under 49 U.S.C. Section 5316, provides transportation services designed to transport welfare recipients and eligible low-income individuals to and from jobs and activities related to their employment, and for public transportation projects designed to transport residents of urbanized areas and non-urbanized areas to suburban employment opportunities. Funds specific to FFY 2006 will be utilized for operational expenses only.

Applications for operational expenses for furnishing transportation services under the 49 U.S.C. Section 5316 grant program in accordance with the Federal requirements shall be received at the Hawaii Department of Transportation, Contracts Office, 869 Punchbowl Street, Room 105, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 until 2 pm, Hawaii Standard Time on September 30, 2008.

Applications received after the time and date fixed shall not be considered.

Potential applicants interested in responding to this solicitation may do so by using the application posted on the Department of Transportation, Statewide Transportation Planning Office website at:

http://hawaii.gov/dot/administration/stp/fta-grant/fta-grant-programs

Application for assistance under 49 U.S.C. Section 5316 shall not be construed as an obligation of funds. The State reserves the right to incorporate or not incorporate any recommendations presented in response to this request in its application for the grant.
