until 2:00 P.M., June 30, 2008 at which time and place they
will be publicly opened and read.
Project No. 99D/G-01-08 includes
modifications to the existing traffic signal systems along Kamehameha Highway at and between
intersections between the vicinity of Acacia
Road and Center
Drive. The
scope of work includes new mast arms, new CCTV cameras, new cable conduit
systems, replacing pedestrian signal heads, new loop detectors, and
interconnecting adjacent traffic signals.
Project No. 99D/G-02-08 includes
installing median fencing and fabric panels along Kamehameha Highway in the vicinity of Acacia Road to Salt Lake Boulevard. The scope of work includes installing chain
link fencing, fabric panels, relocating regulatory and warning signs and installing
new regulatory and warning signs, new sign posts, and furnishing and delivering
additional fabric panels to the State Department of Transportation Baseyard at
727 Kakoi Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96819.
Plans and specifications may be examined and borrowed at
the above office. Borrowed plans and
specifications shall be returned in
good condition within 30 calendar days after the bid opening date.
A pre-bid conference is set for 9:00 a.m., June 12, 2008 at the Oahu District Office, 727 Kakoi Street, Honolulu
Hawaii, 96819. All prospective bidders or their
representatives (employees) are encouraged to attend, but attendance is not
mandatory.

To
be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering Contractor s A license.
Campaign
contributions by State and County
Contractors. Contractors are hereby notified of the
applicability of Section 11-205.5, HRS, which states that campaign
contributions are prohibited from specified State or county government
contractors during the term of the contract if the contractors are paid with funds appropriated by the legislative body. For more information, contact the Campaign

The
U.S. Department of Transportation Regulation entitled Nondiscrimination in
Federally-Assisted Programs of the U.S. Department of Transportation, Title
49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 21 is applicable to this
project. Bidders are hereby notified
that the Department of Transportation will affirmatively ensure that the
contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the
lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color,
national origin and sex (as directed by 23 CFR Part 200).
In accordance
with Section 3-124-4, Hawaii Administrative Rules, the Hawaii Products Preference
is applicable to this project. The
Hawaii Product List may be examined at the State Procurement Office, Kalanimoku Building, 1151 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu,
Hawaii 96813.
Each
proposal shall be on a form furnished by said Department.
Estimated construction cost is between $3,000,000 and
$4,000,000 for Project No. 99D/G-01-08 (PART A) and between $1,000,000 and
$2,000,000 for Project No. 99D/G-02-08 (PART B). The total estimated construction cost for
Project No. 99D/G-01-08 (PART A) and Project No. 99D/G-02-08 (PART B) is
between $4,000,000 and $6,000,000.
