NOTICE TO BIDDERS

SEALED BIDS for FORMER
LANDFILL SITE RESTORATION, PH. 1 (STA 0 + 00 TO STA 6 + 50) AT LIHUE AIRPORT, LIHUE, HAWAII, PROJECT NO.
AK1023-14, will be received at either of the following locations:

until
2:00 p.m., June 12, 2008, at which time and place they will be publicly opened
and read.
The
scope of work consists of clearing and grubbing, excavation of debris material
from the existing slope, placement and grading of excavated material,
construction of grouted rubble paved interceptor ditches, installation of
geotextile separator, excavation and placement of native borrow soil cover,
import and placement of top soil, installation of erosion control mats, and
hydromulching. The project extent for
Phase I is from Sta. 0+00 to Sta 6+50.
Plans and specifications may be examined
and borrowed from the above offices.
Borrowed plans and specifications shall be returned in good condition
within
thirty
(30) calendar days after the bid opening date.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must
possess a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering Contractor s A .
The General Provisions applicable to
this project are also available for purchase from the above office for One
Dollar ($1.00) per copy.
The U.S. Department of Transportation
Regulation entitled Nondiscrimination in Federally-Assisted Programs of the
U.S. Department of Transportation Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations
(CFR), Part 21 is applicable to this project.
Bidders are hereby notified that the Department of Transportation will
affirmatively ensure that the contract entered into pursuant to this
advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without
discrimination on the ground of race, color, national origin and sex (as
directed by 23 CFR Part 200).
A Pre-Bid meeting is scheduled for 9:00
a.m., May 28, 2008, at Lihue Airport Conference Room, Mezzanine Level (3rd
Floor), to explain and clarify any questions regarding this project.
Prospective bidders are advised to attend
this pre-bid meeting but attendance is not mandatory. Questions must be submitted in writing to the State Project
Manager, Airports Division, Department of Transportation, Honolulu
International Airport, 400 Rodgers Boulevard, Suite 700, Honolulu, Hawaii 96819.

Campaign Contributions by State and
County Contractors. Contractors are
hereby notified of the applicability of Section 11-205.5, HRS, which states
that campaign contributions are prohibited from specified State or county
government contractors during the term of the contract if the contractors are

In accordance with Section 3-124-4,
Hawaii Administrative Rules, the Hawaii Products Preference is applicable to
this project. The Hawaii Product List

Each proposal shall be on a form
furnished by said Department.
Estimated construction cost is between
$900,000 and $1,155,000.
