MEETING DETAILS: A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 13, 2008 beginning at 10:00 AM at the National Guard Armory, 2831 Park Avenue North, Faribault, Minnesota 55021-9205. A pre-bid meeting is being conducted to facilitate questions. All questions and their answers will be incorporated into an addendum which will be distributed to all plan holders of record. Please note, the site will be available for observation immediately following the meeting on this date only.

DESCRIPTION: DEPOSIT CONT'D: $200.00 per set of plans and specifications refundable, made payable to BKV Group. The first set of plans and specifications will be delivered to the requestor at no charge to the requestor. For each additional set of plans and specifications, there will be a non-refundable delivery charge of $25.00 per set. If the requestor wants overnight delivery for their first set of plans and specifications, there will be a non-refundable delivery charge of $45.00 per set. Sealed Responses for Construction of an Armed Forces Reserve Center in Faribault, Minnesota (Project No. 06504) will be received by the Facilities Management Office, Department of Military Affairs, State of Minnesota, Camp Ripley, 15000 Highway 115, Little Falls, Minnesota 56345-4173, until the date and time listed in the Response Due date and time noted above. After such time, responses will be opened and publicly read aloud. The estimated construction cost is $16,000,000. The project includes but is not limited to: The building will be constructed with insulated precast concrete panel, metal panel cladding, and masonry walls, with a steel framed roof structure, and precast plank mechanical space floor structure. Primary spaces include office areas, classrooms, a distance learning classroom, an assembly hall/gym, commercial kitchen, toilet rooms, shower rooms, locker rooms, military unit storage rooms including arms vaults, mechanical, electrical and equipment rooms, maintenance training bay, and United States Army Reserve vehicle maintenance shop. Site improvements include automobile parking areas, fenced military vehicle parking, paving, and on-site storm water treatment.
FURTHER DESCRIPTION: Each response which totals more than $50,000.00 must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or money order made payable only to the State of Minnesota; or a surety bond of a surety company duly authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota; in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the response, which is submitted as a solicitation security conditioned upon the responder s entering into a contract with the State of Minnesota in accordance with the terms of the solicitation. It is agreed that said solicitation security of the successful responder will constitute liquidated damages, not a penalty, for the failure or refusal of the successful responder to execute and deliver the contractual documents, in a correct form, within ten (10) days after receipt of the contract documents. This project is subject to Targeted Group/Economically Disadvantaged business preference.
