Synopsis:

The Construction Management Department of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate of the Lake Traverse Reservation is soliciting bids for the demolition of the former Indian Health Service (IHS) Hospital and associated facilities located in Sisseton, South Dakota. The facilities to be demolished include but are not limited to the following: Hospital facility, Outpatient facility, former Dental Clinic, Community Health building, Storage and Supply building, Maintenance Shop building, removal of soffits and door jambs on two Staff Quarter buildings, Well Pump building, Storage-Incinerator building, and pavement demolition. The contractor shall be required to supply all labor, equipment, and expertise to complete the project in accordance with the approved plans and specifications for demolition of the identified facilities including required site protection, restoration, and erosion control. The contractor shall be required to submit a Bidders Bond payable to the Tribe in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, and if the bid is accepted, Performance and Payment Bonds of 100% of the total bid. The contractor must comply with the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate TERO laws and follow TERO Indian preference requirements. The bid documents will be available on July 22, 2008 from the Construction Management Department located at: Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Construction Management Department, c/o Vern Cloud, Construction Manager, P.O. Box 509 11950 BIA Road 7, Agency Village, SD 57262. This procurement is to be funded under an Indian Self-Determination Act contract between the Indian Health Service and the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate. The procurement and subsequent contract award to a Contractor will be solely conducted and administered by the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate. Bids will be received by Mr. Vern Cloud, at 11:00 AM local time, on August 19, 2008. A pre-bid site visit will be conducted at 11:00 AM, local time, on August 5, 2008 at the site of the former IHS Hospital compound at 5 East Chestnut Street, Sisseton, South Dakota.
