The U.S. Army Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, in support of the Product Manager, Mortar Systems, is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for the purchase of 115 Lind Electronics DC Power Converters, 115 DC NATO Cables, 115 RPDA Power Cables, 115 M2 Pig Tail Cables and 115 DAGR Cables. Accessories to support the US Armys M32, Light Weight Handheld Mortar Ballistic Computer (LHMBC) have been purchased under the US Armys CHS-3 contract.
This notice is a Sources Sought/Market Survey Announcement; a solicitation is NOT available at this time.
This Sources Sought/Market Survey is being used to seek sources capable of producing R-PDA-5500 accessories currently available through Lind Electronics, Inc. or an acceptable equivalent. Recommendations require Government approval prior to implementation.
The LHMBC will provide the primary means by which dismounted Mortar Fire Direction Center (FDC) personnel translate requests for fire to firing data and fire commands by automating the computation and display of accurate firing solutions. This LHMBC computer is available under the Armys Common Hardware/Software 3 (CHS-3) program. The LHMBC System is powered by batteries or DC power cables. The Lind power cables will allow the user to several different options to power the LHMBC in any situation.

Interested offerors should provide, at no cost to the Government, a summary of their firms past experience, capabilities, size of business (small or large business), description of facilities, personnel, equipment, tooling, quality control of material and processes, packaging, storage facilities, subcontractors and major vendors, and any other information and areas of expertise that will demonstrate to the Government that they will be able to achieve the effort described herein.
All information is to be submitted at no cost of obligation to the Government; information provided will not be returned. All responsible, interested offerors are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data and any pertinent information via email, or electronically, NO LATER THAN 24 April 2008. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email.
