Description
This is a Brand Name Justification.
Data Domain DD460 provided the best combination of physical foot print, base storage capacity, scalability, data throughput, data compression and cost. The Data Domain DD460 is the only product that provided all of the following:
Inline deduplication in a storage appliance - data is not written to disk until after it is deduplicated, or redundant segments removed. This inline approach minimizes number of disk drives needed and supports replication to take place during the backup window for faster off-site protection.
Automatic verification of backups to enable verify feature to be disabled in backup software which will increase backup performance.
RAID-6 protection against dual drive failures.
Protect current investment of existing backup software.
