Synopsis:

The National Park Service (NPS) intends to issue a sole source purchase order under Commercial Items, FAR Part 12 to OCLC OnLine Computer Library Center. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The acquisition will consist of the following;
Front-end systems for communicating with users in a virtual environment (e-mail, Web forms, chat, page push, co browse, librarian-to-librarian Instant Messaging). No client-side downloads or additional applications are required. Online management of reference transactions that can include walk-up and phone activity. Eliminates the need for handwritten logs, allowing you to handle follow-up tasks, question assignments and referrals using a single Web-based interface. Administrative and reporting tools with statistical reports and customizable surveys. Access to a Global Knowledge Base built by QuestionPoint libraries. Plus, the ability to create a local Knowledge Base customized to your library and your users' needs. Cooperative tools enable libraries to work collaboratively, including increasing coverage through shared staffing and building referral networks. Fully accessible user interface that accommodates screen reading software. Tech support via Web and phone.The applicable NAICS code is 519120. The Government will consider all responses received by 12:00pm MST, Thursday, June12, 2008. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
