Synopsis:

THIS PROCUREMENT IS UNRESTRICTED. The Smithsonian Institution (SI) is seeking proposals to furnish all supervision, labor, materials and equipment needed to construct fourteen (14) Greenhouses and related buildings at the SI's Suitland Facility located at 4210 Silver Hill Road, Suitland, MD. The North American Industry Classification is 236220, size standard $31 million. The project includes building a greenhouse complex that includes fourteen gutter connected greenhouses, including structures, utility services, and furnishings a 10,900 SF headhouse, a 12,000 SF outdoor growing area, a 4000 SF shade house, a 1500 SF propagation greenhouse, a 5000 SF outdoor storage area, 6000 to 9000 SF outdoor recycling area, 44,500 SF polycarbonate greenhouses, a parking lot, and 10,000 SF space for future greenhouses. The work will also include all site work and infrastructure, roads, parking, and pervious paving areas. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will consist of two parts. Part 1: Technical Proposal in which the Offerors establish their qualifications in accordance with the following Evaluation Standards: (1) Firm's Experience and Past Performance; (2) Plan of Accomplishment and Contract Time; (3) Key Personnel and Subcontractors; and (4) Greenhouse Fabricators and Installers. Part 2: Schedule of Values and Contract Price. Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award.
