The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agriculture Marketing Service, Fruit and Vegetable Program, 14th & Independence Ave., SW, Room 2067 South Building, Washington, DC 20250, has a requirement for conference room facilities/lodging for the 24th Session of the Codex Committee on Processed Fruits and Vegetables. The dates for the conference and lodging facilities are: Friday, September 12, 2008 through Saturday, September 20, 2008. The conference facility must be in the vicinity of Washington, DC, with the following specifications: Site must be within 35 miles of Dulles International Airport and within one eighth of a mile radius from a commuter bus or train station; Site must be available from September 13-20 2008. (Meeting convenes September 13 and adjourns September 20, 2008.); Meeting spaces must be contracted for a 24-hour hold basis, beginning Saturday, September 13 through September 20, 6:00 p.m.; Meeting rooms and area for document display should be secure; Appropriate space for an evening reception on September 15, with food (to be determined by event planner), soft drinks for an estimated 80 persons. Costs not to exceed $60.00 per person; Total space and layout needs are as described in the solicitation document. (All appropriate tables should be covered with table cloths and skirts.) Communication equipment is listed to ensure proper hookup is available. Telephones and telephone placement are to be arranged with site. Diagram for General Session and for offices and conference rooms will be available prior to meeting. The associated NAICS code for this requirement is 721110. In accordance with FAR 52.212-2, the Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsive offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government: location, facilities (lodging and conference/meeting rooms), audio visual equipment, and telecommunication services are more important than price.
