Synopsis:

NASA ARC has a requirement for a HAAS CNC Mill, that can be used to machine andfabricate models to support on going ARC Jet testing of space flight projects such as CEVand MSL. These materials are extremely sensitive to contamination and as such, themachining area must be free from oil and grease contaminants during all phases ofoperation. NASA ARC intends to purchase the items from Selway Machine Tool Company, Inc. Thestandard spindle for this machine drips oil during normal operation, however, SelwayMachine Tool Company has a version of the machine that can be purchased with a customorder option for a grease packed spindle that will not leak or drip grease or oilensuring a contamination free work area. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the procurementwill be conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth under FAR Part 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort via email to the identified point of contact no later than 12:00 p.m. (Noon) PSTon May 22, 2008. Please note that this is a hard deadline and that no late responses willbe accepted. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
