Synopsis:

RIA has a need to purchase various paints, paint kits, primer and coatings to paint all vehicles, weapon systems, and related hardware. MIL-C-53039, MIL-P-53022, MIL-C-46168, MIL-PRF-22750 and MIL-P-14105 Chemical Agent Resistant Coatings (CARC), is currently being used at RIA. Due to environmental restraints, RIA has eliminated the use of trichloroethane as a paint thinner as well as a degreaser. At this time, RIA is not thinning with any of the approved thinners per MIL-T-81772 (methylethyl ketone, Toluene, or Xylene) due to the difficulties of testing for Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels in the paint department. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may down load it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: https://acquisition.army.mil. Approximate issue date is 15 May 2008 and the closing date is 15 Jun 2008. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore the responsibility of any interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address in order to obtain any amendments, which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them may render your bid nonresponsive. Award can be made only to the contractor that is registered on the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) System. The internet address to register is https://www.bpn.gov/CCR. Solicitation is set aside for Small Business.
