Description
The VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, is seeking sources to provide A/E services to include site investigation, design development, drawings and specifications, cost estimates, construction period services and site visits. The project will include the following: renovate the existing Canteen Area and Retail Store in the basement of the facility. The Canteen Area renovations shall include all food preparation, service, dining area and associated corridors and offices. The Retail Store renovations shall include the Retail Store offices and associated corridors. The design shall include the incorporation of a separate Men???s and Ladies restroom within the existing dining room space. Work under the Canteen Remodel may include architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical/HVAC design for the proposed location, but a significant portion of the design shall be finishes. HVAC equipment shall be given special consideration under this project. The Canteen and Retail Store are operated by a contract vendor. The equipment within the area is owned by the contractor. The design shall include provisions for all existing equipment or replacement equipment to be installed by the vendor. The design shall include appropriate utilities, supports and ventilation for all equipment. Asbestos and lead paint removal may also be encountered under this project. The estimated construction budget is $250,000 - $500,000. The area of consideration for this acquisition is restricted to firms within 75 driving miles of the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. Interested firms must submit two (2) copies of SF330 with appropriate documentation to Karen Whalen, Contracting Officer (693/049B), VAMC, 1111 East End Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711 by the close of business March 28, 2008. NAICS Code 541330 applies. This is not a request for proposals. This procurement is 100% set aside for small businesses. See numbered notes 1 and 24. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
