Description
NAICS Code: 541330       In accordance with FAR Part 12 Commercial Acquisition Procedures, the U.S. EPA Office of Research and Development (ORD), Air Pollution Revention and Control Division (APPCD) requires a CFD modeling study to be performed on vertical furnace of an existing Multi-pollutant Control Research Facility (MPCRF) to study gasification of biomass for reburn to control NOx emissions.     The MPCRF is located in the High Bay of EPA's Research Triangle Park, NC Campus and its combustor (4 MMBtu/hr) can be operated on natural gas, fuel oil, or pulverized coal.              The furnace     section is 20 ft in height and 3.5 ft in inner diameter, with a swirl burn installed at the top of the furnace.     The burner, designed by N.S. Harding Associates (Salt Lake City, UT), is patterned after the original movable block swirl burner developed by the International Flame Research Foundation     when it was located at Ijmuiden, Holland.         The furnace is designed to generate 1,000 SCFM flue gas at full firing rate.     The reburn system is required to contribute 20 percent of the total heat input to the MPCRF furnace (at 4 MMBtu full firing rate) with up to 65% NOx reduction.     This is not a     small business set-aside.     The applicable NAICS code is 541330.     Award will be made using a Best Value Analysis.     All responsible sources considering themselves qualified may submit a quote which shall be considered by the Agency.     Any firm believing itself capable of providing the required     commissioning must request a copy of the RFQ in writing within fifteen (15) days of electronic posting of this notice.     A pre-award/pre-proposal site visit may available for all interested potential contractors.     Requests should be submitted in writing to Courtney Whiting via email at     whiting.courtney@epa.gov.     Telephone responses and fax responses will not be honored.
