The contractor will engage a design firm to supply the labor and materials to renovate Building # 29, NHCU areas A & B. The building is located on the main campus of the Amarillo VA Health Care System. Work will include designing:
1. The replacement of approximately 5,375 square feet of VCT floor tile and cove base and replace with 6"x24" ceramic tile with wood grain pattern.
2. New breakfast bar stations in each of the two main dining rooms. Work will include millwork, electrical and plumbing.
3. The relocation of two restrooms. Area of renovation is approximately 200 square feet and work is to include demolition, plumbing, fixtures, HVAC, electrical, general construction and finishes.
4. To renovate existing nourishment kitchens and adjacent vacated restrooms into new larger nourishment stations. Work will include demolition, carpentry work, millwork, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection and finishes.
5. To remove 2 existing nurses station millwork, patch floor, relocate Nurse Call and Wander Guard monitoring devices, phone and data jacks into new ergonomic modular work stations. Renovate the vacated areas finishes and provide and install built in ergonomically correct seating areas.
6. Provide labor and materials for approximately 200 square feet of family/sunroom off the alzhiemer's unit.
All designs are to be to VA design criteria. The A/E firm must have an active production office within a 500 mile radius of Amarillo, Texas, and must be a small business. Submission of SF 330's are due NLT May 28, 2008. Estimated construction cost is $500,000 - $1,000,000. NOTE: SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
