This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS in support of market research being conducted to identify capable potential sources, lead time/manufacturing time frame, and to establish if this requirement can be set-aside for small business or other socio-economic program set-asides.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District is getting ready to advertise a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) commercial supply contract for one (1)(A36 Steel) Brake Ring divided into 8 equal segments, with each segment being approximately 7' long x 2' wide x 2.5" thick, weighing ~ 800 pounds each. The inner and outer diameters are approximately 192" and 223", respectively. These inner and outer edges do not need to be machined smooth, HOWEVER, there are two annular keyways - see informational Drawing 3, "Detroit Brake Ring DE-28-B-1527_REV-3 in the attached drafted technical package.
A drafted Scope of Work, inclusive with the brake ring drawings, has been included for information purposes only.
