Request for information. This announcement constitutes a sources sought synopsis to identify POTENTIAL SOURCES who have the capability/interest to manufacture a portable abrasive blast cleaning machine of 2 cubic foot (200 pound dry sand) capacity. Requirements include: Portable, closed, single tank design, with 2 cubic feet or 200 pounds dry sand capacity, 500 pounds steel grit capacity with filling funnel and remote control to operate from a 75 to 125 CFM or less air compressor. 1 Hose and coupling assembly with a 25 foot long 4-ply vulcanized fibre reinforced hose. Reusable couplings with external sleeves shall be provided to make connection at the tank fitting and for the interchange of nozzles. 1 Nozzle holder threaded for 7/8-NF threaded nozzle, 1 Nozzle, 3/32 inch diameter, tungsten carbide orifice, 1 Nozzle, 1/8 inch inside diameter, tungsten carbide orifice, 1 Nozzle, 7/64 inch inside diameter, tungsten carbide orifice, 1 OSHA/NIOSH compliant helmet with a replaceable shatterproof lens of at least 3 by 5 inches, 1 pair chrome-tanned leather gloves with gauntlets. The blast cleaning nozzles shall be equipped with an operating valve which must be held open manually. A support shall be provided on which the nozzle may be mounted when it is not in use. Estimated quantities over a 3-year period could range from approximately 20 to 40. To assist in this market research effort please provide: 1. a brief technical description of your companys ability to produce the item in accordance with the above requirements. 2. A description of similar work your company has performed and 3. Based on a 3-year firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, please provide estimated prices for a quantity of 20 each to include price breaks for an annual production quantity up to 40 per year. We do not intend to make an award on the basis of this Source Sought Synopsis or otherwise pay for the information solicited herein. Include in your response your official company name, address, point of contact, phone number, and business size/status, i.e., small or large/8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc. NAICS Codes 333298, 333999, Size Standard 500 employees are applicable to the blast cleaning machine. Other NAICS codes may also apply. Responses from small business firms should include a statement that your firm will comply with FAR Clause 52.219-14, Limitations on Subcontracting. This clause requires the small business concern to perform work for at least 50 percent of the cost of manufacturing the supplies, not including the cost of materials.
