ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS


Sealed Bids for the construction of the following buildings to be furnished and installed in the City of Wilson, NC will be received by the Project Architect at the City of Wilson Operations Center Conference Room, 1800 Herring Avenue, Wilson, North Carolina until 3:00 PM (EDT) on Thursday, June 4, 2008 and then opened and read aloud.

Bids shall be for the complete construction of three separate buildings including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, site improvements, and other miscellaneous items. The buildings to be constructed are:

1. 600 seat Baseball Stadium / Grandstand
2. 1,536 Sq. Ft. Concessions and Office Building
3. 1,536 Sq. Fr. Public Convenience Building

The construction site is located at the Burt Gillette Athletic Complex,
Corbett Avenue, Wilson, NC.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations:

Hood-Herring Architecture, 213 East Nash Street, Wilson, NC

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from the office of
Hood-Herring Architecture, Wilson, NC upon deposit of $200.00 for each set.
Deposit will be refunded if Contract Documents are returned to the office of the Architect, in good condition, within ten days after bid opening.

Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the Contract price will be required. Bid bond, cash, or certified check, in the amount of 5% of the Bid amount is required with the Bid. (Personal checks are not acceptable)

A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 21th at the Burt Gillette Field House, 3328 Corbett Avenue, Wilson, NC.

Bidders must make positive efforts to utilize businesses owned by minorities and women. The using agency has developed a goal of ten percent (10%) for participation of women-owned and minority-owned business enterprises in contracts awarded pursuant to NCGS 143-128. Bidders must comply with using agency’s requirements for HUB documentation. Small, female, and minority-owned businesses are encouraged to submit Bids for this Project.
