City of Roswell INVITATION TO BID OPAL DRIVE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT ITB #10-077B The City of Roswell is accepting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Opal Drive Water Main Replacement Project (BID #10-077B). Sealed bids will be received no later than 2:00 PM, THURSDAY, MARCH 18, 2010 at the City of Roswell Purchasing Division, Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill Street, Suite 130, Roswell, Georgia 30075, at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud. Bids received after the above date and time, or in any location other than the Purchasing Division, will not be considered. There will be a Pre-bid conference THURSDAY, MARCH 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM to be held at Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill Street, Room 220, Roswell, GA, 30075. Attendance is not required, but highly recommended. The scope of work consists of replacing an existing 2-inch galvanized steel water line on Opal Drive, a 6-inch asbestos concrete water line on Thomas Drive, and a 6-inch cast iron water line on Charles Place. The existing water lines will be replaced with 8-inch ductile iron pipe. There is approximately 742 linear feet of new 8-inch ductile iron pipe on Opal Drive, approximately 778 linear feet of new 8-inch ductile iron pipe on Thomas Drive, and approximately 666 linear feet of ductile iron pipe on Charles Place. The new water line will be tied into an existing 8-inch ductile iron water line on the east side of Charles Place at the bridge on one end and into an existing 12-inch ductile iron water line on the east side of Alpharetta Street on the other end. Bidders should note that this project is funded with Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds and prevailing wages as established by the Secretary of Labor shall be paid to all participating in this project. Labor standards, laws, regulations, wage decisions and required forms are included with all bid documents for this project for review and use in preparation of this bid. The successful vendor (as prime or general contractor) shall be responsible for the full compliance of all contractors, subcontractors and any lower-tier subcontractors with the labor standards provisions applicable to this project. Federal regulations including M/W/SBE, EEO, Conflict of Interest, Drug-Free Workplace, Davis Bacon Act (DBA), Copeland Act (Anti-Kickback act), Contact Work Hours Safety Standard Act (CW HSSA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Fair Housing Act (FHA) and others also apply to this project.
