Description
The Northern Region Contracting Center, Mission Support Division, Fort Leavenworth, KS is conducting a market research for individuals or companies capable of providing a draft manuscript detailing the U.S. Armys organizational order of battle for t he period 1919 to 1941 to fill a void in published record of U.S. Army units documented on one end by Order of Battle of the United States Land Forces in the World War and Shelby L. Stantons Order of Battle U.S. Army, World War II, on the other end.     The contents of the manuscript shall include, but is not limited to: Unit entries such as, Infantry, Cavalry, Field Artillery, Coast Artillery, Air Service, Engineer, Quartermaster Corps, Medical Corps, Military Police and Reserve Officers Training Corps, will     include: the organizations designation, component (Regular Army, National Guard, Organized Reserve); headquarters location; a brief narrative history of the unit from return from France or constitution/organization to 7 December 1941; an Organization Day note; current status of the unit as of about 2001; a number coded list of key events in which the unit participated 1919-41; and for selected battalion-size units and regiments and above, the unit commanders and dates of command as far as can be determined     from the available documentation.     The qualification requirements include A Master Degree in History from an accredited college or university; unique expertise in the detailed knowledge of the organization; unit organizational history; contemporary termin ology; operational, training, and support activities; and key leaders and personalities of the US Army for the 1919-1941 period; experience in conducting research at locations such as the National Archives, Center of Military History, and the Military Hist ory Institute; and experience in writing military history in the English language.     The anticipated completion date of the draft manuscript is September 30, 2008.       All contractors responding are required to register in the Central Contractor Registration for Product Service code: B521 and NAICS code: 711510 at http://www.ccr.gov     All responses to this notice must provide a statement of capability to include a demonstration of previously published work.     All responses must also provide a phone number, fax n umber, Email address, business size, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number and cage code not later than 2:00 p.m. CST, on December 19, 2007 to mary.farrell@us.army.mil.
