SOURCES SOUGHT - Bryce Canyon National Park is seeking an asphalt milling machine for use in rebuilding the roads in the Sunset Campground.
The machine the park is interested in is an Asphalt Zipper-500 or another machine of similiar design that meets the following minimum specifications: 1. 185hp 6 Cylinder Turbo Diesel engine with a Magnum Duty Gear Reducer; 2. Cutter Width 48"; 3. Cutter Depth up to 12"; 4. Depth must be controlled by an active hydraulic system; 5. Cutting Teeth manufactured with a bullet head and carbide tipped; 6. Must mill asphalt such that a jagged surface remains; 7. Must mill asphalt so that 1" minus material remains; 8. Must be towable by 3/4 ton pickups or better on its own trailer; 9. Must mount on a front-end loader with 3 yard clamshell bucket ; 10. Hydraulic access must be through a top loading bit hatch; 11. Must be equipped with a pressurized belt tensioning system.
