Description
This a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written sclicitation will not be issued. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS. Ability to meet the salient functional and technical requirement listed to determine capability. Any questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted to Aaron Holland via email at ahol@loc.gov. The cut off date for questions is Nov 16, 2007. All responses for questions will be Nov 20, 2007. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will considered by the library. The Library reserves the right to make an award on the initial award without discussions. Preparation of Offers: Responses to this solicitation must be submitted in two separate volumes. Volume I: Techincal Proposal and Volume II: Price Proposal. All offerors are required to submit a price for the initial year and each of the four options years. Proposals must be submitted electronically (via email ahol@loc.gov) and in hard copy. Hard copy proposals must be submitted with one original and two copies. Proposals are due on or before Nov 26, 2007. Proposals received after the due date will not be accepted.

Statement of Work for MMG Macintosh Systems Maintenance and Repair

Scope of Work

The purpose of this statement of work is to obtain maintenance service and support for the Apple computer hardware and software and their related video products that are located in the Information Technology Services/Multimedia Group section of the Library of Congress.     The Multimedia Group relies on Apple computer software and hardware for the web-based distribution of multimedia content, including the live distribution of events such as the White House/Library of Congress National Book Festival and attendant ceremonies.     This contract will cover both hardware and software problems related to this equipment.     The period of performance for this for this contract is from 10/01/2007 thru 09/30/2008.

Support will also include the cost of hardware repair parts as identified in the Contract Objectives and Provisions found below, as well as any associated video and/or software problems encountered.     The equipment consists of 23 Apple computers (18 G5s and 5 G4s).

Contract Objectives and Provisions

Macintosh Systems Hardware Repair Proposal

Selected vendor will be an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and fully qualified to perform repairs on all Macintosh models, incl. laptops and Apple monitors (LCD and CRT)

Selected vendor must perform all repairs on-site.

Vendor must provide NTE* $10,000.00 annual coverage for Macintosh computer parts to be used toward hardware repairs of machines that are not covered by warranty or are out of AppleCare hardware coverage.

Selected vendor will repair machines having hardware failures that are still under coverage with Apple, but fees for parts and labor will be billed to Apple and not LOC.

Vendor will provide detailed records for every service interaction for accounting and technical purposes.     Work will be considered complete when the primary MMG contact determines that specific repairs have been completed.

Macintosh Video Systems 200-Hour Macintosh Video Service Proposal

Selected vendor will be an Apple Authorized Service Provider.     Vendor will be fully qualified to perform maintenance, upgrades, support and training for all Apple software and specifically the following video software packages: Final Cut Studio 2; FCP, Motion, Soundtrak, DVDPro, Color.    

Vendor will be expected to install and support Apple?s Final Cut Server software and any related work station components.

Selected vendor will provide 200 hours of support.     The hours can be used for contingency troubleshooting, training, and setup of new equipment relating to Mac video workstations.     Included in the 200 hours, vendor will provide 4-hour regularly scheduled monthly service visits for general maintenance and troubleshooting.

Selected vendor must perform all services on-site.

Vendor will be required to provide evening (after 7pm) and weekend work and make emergency visits when necessary as determined by the primary MMG contact.

Vendor will provide detailed records for every service interaction for accounting and technical purposes.     Work will be considered complete when the primary MMG contact determines that specific maintenance, upgrades, support and/or training services have been met.
