U. S. GOVERNMENT SEEKS EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR TOWER SPACE. SPENCER MOUNTAIN/GASTONIA, NC. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) seeks expressions of interest from owners and authorized agents of existing towers. NOAA presently has a NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) antenna at approximately 1,425 feet above mean sea level (AMSL) on a tower on Spencer Mountain, southwest of the town of Spencer Mountain, NC, along with approximately 36 square feet (SF) of floor space in an adjacent structure for a NWR transmitter; and is seeking expressions of interest from owners of other towers in and around the area of Spencer Mountain/Gastonia, NC for possible relocation of the antenna and equipment. This broadcast antenna provides NWR coverage of the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area. The Government will consider relocation only if a move is economically advantageous. The Government will consider agency mission requirements, the cost of moving, installation of equipment, etc., when deciding whether it should relocate. Occupancy would be required as soon as possible for 10 years. This advertisement is not a basis for negotiation. The Government reserves the right to reject any or all expressions of interest and give consideration to properties other than those offered in response to this advertisement. AMOUNT: Position on a tower at c. 1,425 feet AMSL for the placement of NWR property consisting of a Scala 4xHDB155 antenna; plus floor area in an adjacent structure for placement of a Armstrong G1000 Dual Unit transmitter. The National Weather Service (NWS) will provide and install the equipment. LOCATION: Tower must be in or around the Spencer Mountain/Gastonia, NC area. REQUIRED: Utilities, air-conditioning, and standby power are requested as part of the rental consideration. TERM: The lease shall be for a term of 10 years.
