Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.    This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals    are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.    a.    Ability to test 12 volt, 24 volt, or 32 volt alternators, generators, and starters.    Fifteen (15) horse power (HP) Alternator tester using a 230v, Three Phase heavy duty motor to provide actual vehicle operating speeds and conditions.    Heavy duty watt saver motor designed for electronic variable speed inverters that insure energy efficiency and quiet operation.
      b.    May be stationary.    -    Maximum Overall Height 30; Width 48; Depth 39; Weight 900 pounds. (Movable with an industrial 4-6,000 pound forklift.)
      c.    Power requirements:    208/230 volt AC, 3 phase,; 12 volt, 450 amps, 5400 watts; 24 volts, 225 amps, 5400 watts; 32 volt,    150 amps, 4800 watts.    Must h ave an electronic variable speed control (inverter) with speed range controller by potentiometer.
      d.    Speed range from approximately 800 to 7,000 revolutions per minute (RPM) to make tests at original equipment manufacturers (OEM) recommended outpu t speeds and low RPM cut-in speeds.
      e.    Off/Forward/Reverse Motor Switch.
      f.    Electronic Variable Load Control providing a uniform increase in load current while safely dissipating output current through a bank of heavy duty wire wound resi stors which are fan cooled.
      g.    Diode ripple lamp shows if main diodes are shorted or open.
      h.    Diode trio lamp simulates dash light operation on Delco and similar integral alternators, including the late model alternators.
      i.    Osci lloscope plug connectors.
      j.    Alternator Harness for easy hook-up of foreign and domestic alternator test leads.
      k.    Serpentine and V Belt Combination Pulley.
      l.    Heavy-duty Direct Current (DC) power contactors.
      m.    Modula r design for easy servicing.
      n.    Four 4.5 pivot and jewel analog meters:             1)    Voltmeter - 0-18/36/54 Volt Scale shows alternator output voltage/integral voltage regulator controlling voltage.             2)    Ammeter - 0-250/500 scale shows output am perage.             3)    Ammeter 0-250 scale shows battery charging amperage, (i.e. amount of current going into battery and not into load.             4)    Ammeter 15-0-15 scale shows rotor draw where applicable.
      o.    Digital tachometer shows alternator RPM ad justable to compensate for pulley size.
      p.    A/B Circuit Switch.
      q.    12/24/32 Voltmeter Range Switch.
      r.    Voltmeter external switch for testing stator voltage at relay terminal.
      s.    Alternator output leads are dead until moto r is turned on or until battery ON switch is switched to ON position.
      t.    Battery ON switch for constant battery voltage, if needed.
      u.    Fully copper wound class B insulated transformers coated to resist moisture penetration.
      v.    Sturdy, heavy-duty cast iron mounting vise with alternator bracket for quick mounting and removal of alternators. With 1.25 hold down screw to securely Hold down heavy duty alternators, generators and starters.
      w.    Hinged belt guard.
      x.    Free running 12/24/32 volt no load starter test.
      y.    Ignition R lamp to indicate proper R terminal operation on Delco starters.
