The streetscape project includes nearly 2 miles of landscape planting and irrigation improvements along Airport Drive from Williamsburg Road to Charles City Road. Landscape improvements will include new plantings at existing main entrance sign area, street trees and turf along divided roadway with lower plantings and turf in the medians, all irrigated. The project area includes portions of Airport Drive currently under construction and scheduled for completion August 2008. A portion of the new roadway will widen to three lanes having a central raised through lane creating approximately 30,000 sf. of sloped median area to be planted with trees, shrubs and turf, all irrigated. Landscape plantings throughout will include the installation of sod, annual and perennial flowers, shrubs and trees. Irrigation improvements will include connection to an existing waterline and installation of an underground irrigation system with pop up sprinkler heads, controller and other appurtenances. System components will include variable Frequency Booster pumps, a computer central control and satellite system, and 4" gasket PVC main.

The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to solicit qualified, experienced firms for the upgrade to the existing security card access system for the Capital Region Airport Commission (the Commission). The Commission currently uses Infographics card access by GE Security. The application software is Diamond I version 8.11.A7, operating on Windows 2000. There are two servers operating redundantly, two badging workstations with cameras and badge printers, three alarm workstations and one programming workstation. It is the intent of the Commission to establish an agreement with the firm best suited to meet the needs and requirements of the Commission.

A&N; BUILDING DEMOLITION Sealed bids will be received by the Capital Region Airport Commission, Procurement Department until 2:00 PM local time, Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Commission s Conference Room, Ivor Massey Administration Building at 5707 Huntsman Road, Richmond International Airport, Virginia 23250 The proposed work involves a base bid and additive bid items. The work consists of demolition of the existing main building (134,500 sf), steel trusses, joists, columns, metal roof deck, concrete on steel frame, brick, masonry, glass and steel; demolition of the pump house (672 sf) and demolition of the water tank. Demolish retaining walls, slabs-on-grade, steel embeds and sidewalks. Backfill with off-site materials. Cap or disconnect existing utilities. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials and incidentals required to substantially complete the project in accordance with the plans, specifications and terms and conditions of the contract. A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference for will be held in the Commission s boardroom, Airport Terminal Building, 1 Richard E. RUNWAY 2-20 REHABILITATION/RECONSTRUCTION The proposed work involves a base bid and additive bid items. The base bid provides for the rehabilitation of Runway 2-20 by milling and overlaying the existing asphalt surface; reconstruction of the existing concrete runway threshold areas with new asphalt pavement sections; replacement of the runway edge lighting circuit cable and transformers; and re-marking of the runway. Other items included in the base bid are minor storm drainage improvements; expansion of the terminal apron; removal of arresting system items on Runway 16-34 and associated pavement replacement; removal of centerline lighting on a taxiway; installation of centerline lights on a taxiway, installation of runway PAPI systems, and construction of an FAA facility access road. The additive bid items, if awarded by the Commission, provide for the reconstruction of the runway s blast pads; rehabilitation of existing runway shoulder by milling and asphalt overlay; construction of new runway shoulder; and removal of existing, excess concrete shoulder pavement beyond a federally required width.
