The project involves the construction of a 2,600 car parking addition to the existing parking garage at the Richmond International Airport, as well as renovation work in the existing parking garage. A new four-bay ticket canopy is included. The new garage addition is designed for future expansion and is intended to match the existing structure in appearance. The site work consists of rerouting utility lines, site regarding, landscaping, paving, bus staging area and new storm water drain system for both the new and existing facilities. Architectural work consists of demolition and a concrete post-tensioned structure on concrete piles, architectural concrete, pre-cast architectural concrete, structural steel, masonry, door openings, finish materials, equipment and elevators. Mechanical work consists of HVAC, plumbing, irrigation and fire protection. Electrical work consists of demolition, electrical power, lighting and emergency electrical generation. The work will be constructed in two phases. Phase 1 This phase includes North Parking Garage Expansion, Water System Improvements and North Parking Garage Canopy Addition. The Substantial Completion shall be achieved no later than 545 Calendar Days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. The Final Completion for this phase Work shall be achieved no later than 60 calendar days from the date of Substantial Completion. Phase 2 This phase includes South Parking Garage Renovations and South Parking Garage Canopy Addition. The Phase 2 Substantial Completion shall be achieved no later than 180 Calendar Days from Phase 1 Substantial Completion Date. The Final Completion for this phase Work shall be achieved no later than 60 Calendar days from the date of Substantial Completion. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00 A.M. local time, January 10, 2008 in the Commission Board Room, Airport Terminal Building, 1 Richard E. Byrd Terminal Drive. Bid documents may be obtained from A&E; Reprographics Supply, 1400 North Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23230 Phone 355-8601 upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit, by cash, check or money order in the amount of $270.00 for each set of full-sized plans and specifications. No half size or partial sets shall be printed or issued. Bidders shall be responsible for shipping costs. Bidders shall receive one copy of addenda issued for each set of plans purchased. The bidder shall be responsible for ensuring all drawing sheets listed in the table of contents are included in the bid documents and that they are legible. Coordination of specification sections, trades and subcontractor scopes of work are the sole responsibility of the bidder.
