Synopsis:

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City, FL (NSWC PC) intends to award a sole source purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures to Marine Design and Composites LLC, 7647 Investment Court, Owings, MD 20736-3110, for the repair of the wing assemblies on the AN/AQS-24A Mine Hunting System. The AN/AQS-24A is a high resolution, side looking sonar and laser scan detecting system that is streamed, towed, and recovered from the MH-53E helicopter. NAVICP has approved the acceptance of reconditioned AN/AQS-24A wings weighing 21 lbs. +/- 2 lbs. Contractor support is required to repair the wings and bring them back to original equipment specifications so that they can be re-issued for fleet use. These wing assemblies PN: 1D60738G01 will provide the USN with an increased reliability during AN/AQS-24A system tow operations. This asset will increase the mission readiness status of the Helmineron Squadrons. This procurement is sole source for the following reason! s: a) the wing assemblies require the repairs from Marine Design & Composites, LLC, being the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). b) As the OEM, Marine Design and Composites LLC is the only company with the in-house resident knowledge of delicate wing assemblies that can perform all of the intricate repairs.
