THE AIR FORCE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE This year's AFITC theme is: "Knowledge - Local Global Operational"
It focuses on how information is created locally, shared globally through our vast communications capabilities, and used operationally in support of the warfighting effort and cyberspace domain. This conference will bring together government leaders and key figures in the field of information technology, allowing them to learn how to best apply the latest, cutting-edge technology to keep the Air Force the most advanced fighting force in the world. We expect approximately 5,600 government and civilian attendees to participate in the many events that will take place. Also, a majority of the attendees will be Air Force Active Duty, Civil Service, Guard and Reserve personnel. AFITC has taken place annually in the Montgomery area for more than a quarter of a century. This year's conference will be held at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa Convention Center located in downtown Montgomery, Alabama. AFITC 2008 will showcase how IT hardware, software, and services are being us! ed today and how they will be used in the future to help the Air Force accomplish its cyberspace mission. AFITC is one of the primary tools we have for keeping Air Force IT users, developers, and managers current on the latest technologies. Attendees also receive a "vector check" from leading government and industry experts on the direction of IT in the Air Force while learning about future industry offerings and advances in technology.
