Description
The items listed are to upgrade a system that was purchased 8-10 years ago and that is no longer state of the art. The system will allow us to record from brainstem neurons that detect reward and reward-predicting stimuli. Our understanding of the firing patterns of these neurons is essential to current efforts to develop medications for addiction. The components of this system must be purchased from a supplier knowledgeable of the manufacturer of the basic system that is to be upgraded. The following items are needed: 1. Preamplifier box, 32 spike charnnels (150Hz-9 kHz, 50x gain, with programmable referencing) and 32 field potential channels (0.7 Hz-300Hz, 50x gain) 2. Data cable for 16 preamp channels, 15 foot length (qty 4) 3. 32-channelV LSI headstage, 20x gain 4. Headstage cable, 34 gauge for 32 channel VLSI headstage,36" length 5. Headstage tester unit for 32-channel VLSI headstage 6. National Instruments A /D subsystem plus accessories C -HUB, 2 meter CBUC-HUB cable, and PCI-6071E board) for 64-channel analog recording ( 1.25M S/sec,1 2-bitr es.) 7. Panel with 16 BNC connectors3, 4-pin header, 3 7-pin Dsub connector; includes     jumpers for individual channels election input 8. Cable to connect BNC/168 to C-HUB 9. TIM board timing cable-standard: one NIDAQ output 5 feet long, plus yellow wire 10. Digital input cable, bare wire (no connector) at distal end, 15ft length 11. Host Link board (MXI) upgrade. Complete kit: HLK2 board, PCI card, cable, manual. 12. Neuro Explorer data analysis software, version 4 manual, three seat license (3 USB keys) 13.
