The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) may issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) in April 2008 for design, development and demonstration, testing and low rate initial production of the AN/SLQ-32(V) Surface Electronic Warfare (EW) System Block 2 Upgrade. The AN/SLQ-32 Surface EW System Block 2 Upgrade is a new effort that incorporates limited parts of the architecture of the AN/SLQ-32 Block 1 System and provides an improved receiver/antenna group necessary to keep capabilities current with the pace of the threat, as well as improved Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) mitigation and Combat System Interface. A number of key components from the AN/SLQ-32 Block 1 System will be government furnished equipment and must be integrated unmodified - except for interfaces - into the new AN/SLQ-32(V) System Block 2 Upgrade.
The purpose of this pre-solicitation notice is to provide status and update notice N0002408R5372, originally posted 10 March 2008. The open period for requesting the available information referenced in the 10 March 2008 pre-solicitation closed 27 March 2008. However, the date for submitting questions relating to the requested materials is extended to 15 April 2008, 4:30PM (Eastern Time). Unclassified questions may be submitted to john.butto@navy.mil with "N0002408R5372 Question(s)" in the subject line. This is the preferred method for receiving questions. Further, questions submitted by e-mail or phone may be addressed publicly as part of a planned classified pre-solicitation conference or Industry Day, approximately scheduled 23 April 2008, in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. It is requested that any party that has requested an information package prior to the 27 March 2008 closing date and has not received the requested information by 7 April 2008 contact Mr. J! ohn Butto by e-mail with subject "Non-Receipt of Requested Information" in the subject line. Additional information regarding the aforementioned conference or Industry Day will be posted after 14 April 2008.
