The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) seeks information from Contractors and Government agencies on new weapons systems and munitions, and enabling component technologies, suitable for integration on currently fielded Army Aviation platforms. Army Aviation platforms include Apache AH-64D, Kiowa OH-58D, Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH-70A), Blackhawk UH-60 and Army Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The target platforms include manned as well as unmanned aircraft. Potential weapons systems and munitions include, but are not limited to, missiles, rockets, guns or air launched, loiter/attack UASs. Munitions that can be employed across multiple platform types are desired. Weapon component modularity is also a favorable design consideration in that a modular weapon concept may service a wider variety of aviation platforms. For munitions solutions, the primary interest is in weapon concepts in two weight-classes: approximately a 30 lb munitions (fly-away weight) and approximately a 10 lb munitions. The weapons system should be able to engage stationary and moving targets such as light vehicles and dismounted personnel in day and night conditions with low collateral damage. The response needs to address the operational concept and give a top level system description to include the munitions, the platform interface, the target acquisition subsystem, the launcher subsystem and warfighter interfaces. Provide a brief description of your product with system performance data to the extent available. Identify unique interface requirements, in particular pertaining to the subsystems listed above. Provide an assessment of the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of your product. In addition to the written description, summary information in a format similar to the attached table is desired. Items listed in the table do not constitute evaluation criteria, and will be used for information purposes only. This announcement is for purposes of exchanging information to improve understanding of the Government requirement and industry capability and is for information and planning. Responses to this RFI will be used to assess the state of the art, formulate requirements for future technology development efforts, identify opportunities for demonstration of novel weapons technologies, and assess their military utility. The Government may request additional information upon review. In addition to the product information, responses should identify business size using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 336413 and the Small Business Size Standard is 1000 employees.

This announcement should not be construed as a commitment by the Government. Any information submitted by industry will not constitute an offer, which could be accepted by the Government to create a binding contract. Classified information shall NOT be included in the Information Paper. Please make sure to mark the Information Paper with the appropriate markings if proprietary information is provided. Responses to this RFI are not to exceed 25 pages in length to include the Attachment 1, Technology or System Characteristics Information, that can be down loaded from the following site. https://www.aatd.eustis.army.mil/Business/Divisions/Contracting/Acc_Announ.asp The information paper shall be submitted electronically via the AMRDEC Safe Access and File Exchange Website in Microsoft Office or unprotected .pdf. Please do not submit PDF files that do not allow copying text and images from the PDF file as this information will be used to create a database of technology for use by Government personnel.
